How to Google

The Right Way

We do approx 50 Google searches a day, knowingly or unknowingly.

Here are a few tips you should know to get your stuff done easier and faster.

1. “radius of sun” — to get the exact thing you need, put words under “”.
2. law of attraction site:example.com — this allows you to search in exactly the site you are looking for.
3. related:twitter.com — shows list of sites similar to twitter.
4. life skills filetype:pdf — shows a specific filetype for the matching keyword
5. priyansh@twitter — to search for social media handles
6. 34623674=english — to spell the number in words.
7. Roll a die — type this in Google, its one of many games inbuilt in google.
8. Create Google alerts for specific name.
9. Rocky -film -this shows results for Rocky but not of rocky film (excluding film results)
10. ~cheap — this will give synonym of word with (~) sign.
11. Weather *zip code* — shows weather of the area code
12. sun * in the east — Use asterisk for words you dont remember.
13. imagesize:500x400 — Search for an exact image size —
14. Put # in front of a word to search a trend. For example: #throwbackthursday
15. Put .. between two numbers to search range. For example, camera $50..$100.
16. Put “OR” between each search query to get more results. For example, marathon OR race.
17. [most useful] Put “site:” in front of a site or domain. For example, site:youtube.com or site:.gov.
18. See Google’s cached version of a site Put “cache:” in front of the site address
